The Casa Batlló was built (1877) and remodelled (1904–1906) by Antoni Gaudí. It is major landmark of Catalonia’s Art Nouveau and Modernist style. The local name for the building is Casa dels ossos (House of Bones), because windows have bone-like pillars and balconies look like pieces of skulls.

Set in the heart of Paris on the left bank opposite Notre-Dame, Shakespeare and Company bookstore is a unique place. Originally established in 1920s by Sylvia Beach, the store was a gathering place for writers such as Ernest Hemingway and James Joyce. Shakespeare and Company serves as both a bookstore and a reading library, specializing in English-language literature.

Abbesses

Located in the Montmartre, Abbesses metro station is one of only three original “Art Nouveau” entrances designed by Hector Guimard left in Paris. The entrance was originally used for the Hôtel de Ville metro station, but transferred to its current location in 1970.
